Our 2007 Body Transformation Contest "The Biggest Loser Style" Winners! BUSTER EZELL
I entered the Body Transformation contest because it seemed like a good thing to do.
My dad just recently spent over 100 days in the hospital after what was considered minor surgery. Several of the doctors stated that the reason for his length of recovery and the compilations were due
directly to his physical condition before the surgery. He weighed 313 lbs, had
adult onset diabetes, and high blood pressure. I took an inventory of myself
and knew I had to do something. I want to do all I can to prevent putting this
type of burden on my family. A healthy lifestyle became an emotional decision,
not something I wanted to do or I should do but something I must do. That is
what brought me into All About Bodies. When my family joined, Payam mentioned
the Body Transformation contest was about to start up and suggest I sign up. The
idea sounded good and here I am 8 weeks later.
My boot camp experience was great. The
trainers, Rick, Kenny, Lee and Monica really made me want to put forth the effort. Thanks
to them I saw good results during the first 6 weeks. The evening after the 6th boot camp, I
had a major setback. I was on the basketball court and severely injured my knee. According to the doctors, I have a 100% tear of my ACL, sever tear to my MCL, and
probably some cartridge damage. In pain and waiting on a surgery date, I did
not want to lose my momentum. I thought of the times my dad was hurting and did
not have the desire or the strength to perform his daily physical therapy in the hospital.
I had lost 20 lbs at the 6 week mark and I was not going to quit. I had
to do something. That is when I took the extra step and contracted for personal training with Payam at All About Bodies. The personal training with Payam made the difference. Because of my injured knee, I could only work the upper half of my body and was unable
to do any cardiovascular exercise. I didn’t foresee losing any more weight;
I just wanted to maintain my current weight. So the last two weeks of the contest,
I trained only abdominals and upper body with Payam. Payam focused on working
quickly to incorporate cardiovascular fitness while instructing me that I had to be perfect concerning my nutrition. The whole thing worked. I actually gained
muscle tissue and lost 5 lbs of weight in the last two weeks. Wow! The whole staff at All About Bodies has made a believer out
of me. My life is literally different.
My wife and son are proud of me, my 12 year old son actually thinks it is cool to be seen with me, and the confidence
and attitude I have went up a notch. Every day seems better when you know you
did something to make life better for you and your family. I lost a total of 25 lbs of body weight equating to 6.5%
of body fat. The 25 lbs makes you think about things differently. I feel better, my wife says I look better, and many things are just easier to do. I don’t ever see myself picking up 25 additional pounds and lugging it around all day. But, that is exactly what I had been doing for years. Medically, I can see where extra weight can really
pull a body down after 20, 30, 40 or 50 years of carrying it. And, I still believe
more improvement is possible. Over the last couple of days, I have sat back and tried to
come with an answer to why - Why did I wait till now to do this, why didn’t I search out All About Bodies before, why
did I not know about these healthy habits. I started to reflect back on what
shaped my attitude and desire to take action or not to take action. The answer is in the truth. I didn’t know the truth. Health and nutrition are areas where each of us needs someone to give it to us straight. The truth is what All About Bodies seems to have as a mission to deliver. All About Bodies offers the truth to all those who will listen and, more importantly, take action. The truth is what All About Bodies has given me. I thank them for this. I am an example of what can happen to a person who listens and takes action using the knowledge from All About Bodies staff. My journey with All About Bodies has become a mission for me to be an example to my family for them to see a living example of what proper nutrition, cardiovascular fitness, and weight bearing exercise can do for a person. This becomes an emotional decision and one that will never end - a life time of a new me. If you want to know the truth like I do, go to All About Bodies because the truth is...they WILL get you in shape!! Buster Ezell

I feel like
I have a found a magic key…..
I walked into All Bodies about 9 weeks ago. I was short, fat, unhappy and unhealthy. I had just had my second
baby on June 2 and instead of doing something to get back in shape, I did the opposite. I fed my four year old and myself
fast food, pizza, Chinese, junk food etc. I would then come home and turn on the TV for my child and moan and groan about
how fat I was. I finally got the final kick in the butt when I had a health fair at my job. They basically told me that I
was fat, had high blood pressure and high cholesterol, all which contributed to my diet and lack of exercise. I obsessed about
these findings for a couple of weeks and then one day I woke up and just said, “I am tired of being tired and I am too
cute to be fat!” I filled out the online profile on the All About Bodies website and about 2 hours later, I was on the
phone with Monica. This is the pivotal point in the story……. I set up an appointment to meet with Monica and I have never in my life seen someone so excited about healthy eating, educating you on what different foods do to your body, exercise and eagerness to help you to your goal. I had read on the website about the body transformation challenge and it was stuck in my head that I had to do it. With the encouragement of my husband and the staff at All About Bodies I decided to go for it. What did I have to lose……hopefully weight! Then my new life began. The very first boot camp, I thought I was gonna die. But I knew I could do this. I had many meetings with Monica asking her questions about food, exercising and the best way to meet my goal. I was very strict about my diet, stopped drinking alcohol, stopped going to fast food, ate every 3 hours (the good stuff), increased my water and protein and my weight in the next week felt like it was melting off! I lost 11 lbs the first week, I couldn’t believe it. If anything could get you motivated, it was seeing results that quickly. From that point I was full steam ahead. My entire family starting eating healthy, exercising and striving over all for a better lifestyle. My dog was greatful because she was getting good walks, as well as my son. I learned that I truly love working out and how it makes you feel. I love doing weights, classes, ie Pilates, kickboxing, and Saturday boot camp and talked my husband into giving me some personal training sessions for Christmas I am now in clothes that I haven’t worn in years. I can fit into my “goal” shorts that I bought the first week of the contest. It is truly amazing how the combination of eating right and exercising just causes the weight to drop off. I feel like my body is saying THANK YOU. THANK YOU THANK YOU TO ALL ABOUT BODIES FITNESS. I feel better, I look better, and I am in a better mood. I love to tell people that I feel like I have found the secret key (even though it’s not a secret). I have gotten the question “What have you been doing” several times a day when I go into my office. I love to tell my story and love to let them know how happy I am, that I am the happy, healthy, playful, mom and wife that I should be instead of the one that was slowly killing me. So if you want to get in shape like me, use my "magic key", All About Bodies Fitness Center and Monica!!! Jennifer Lasenyik TEAM TRAINING

The Narrow Path to September 30th, 2006
– Biggest Loser Style
Hello my name is Cathy Lowe. My path to making it to September 30th, 2006 was one that took a lot of discipline.
Actually, my journey for becoming a “Big Loser” started a little over a year ago, August 28th, 2005.
I had just moved to
The competition started out with a new game plan for nutrition and working out. I knew that I was already working hard
on my nutrition and workout schedule, so finding different ways to improve them were difficult for me. I was already working
out 4 days a week so it was hard for me to imagine that I could improve on what I was doing. Taking advice from Monica allowed
me to up my workout schedule to working out in the morning on cardio, as well as, maintaining my evening regiments. Along
with the morning workouts, Team Payam helped immensely on my nutrition. The trainers helped me critique my nutrition
so that I could maintain my workout level while reducing my calorie intake to keep it at the minimum I would need to loose
the weight I wanted. Maintaining a strict 900 calorie diet for 4 weeks followed by the remaining 5 weeks at 1,200, were key
to my success in this competition. Adding the additional morning workouts was what completed the combination I needed to successfully
lose the weight and gain the muscle I did.
On top of the nutrition and extra workouts, the team competition really kept me focused and encouraged. Having the
support of my teammates helped me stay focused throughout the entire competition. I think it was an excellent idea to have
a team contest coincided with the individual one. Having the resources of all the trainers and the support that others gave
me while trying to reach the same goal, is what kept me striving to finish. You realize that there are so many others making
the same concessions you are and it keeps you motivated. Without their help I
know the success I achieved in this competition would not have been possible. So, in closing, a huge Thank You first to Monica!
She has always been there for me from day one. I would not be where I am today physically without all her help. A big Thank
You to Rik and Ivan as well. Rik has helped me individually on workouts and Ivan has helped me on my team ones. Another Thank
You to my teammates, I appreciate all the support you’ve provided. Lastly, but not least, Payam, without him offering
all of us a great group of trainers and a facility to train, none of us would be here. Thank You all so very much for all
you’ve done and probably will continue to do for me and my family!

For this eight week contest my
goals were to lose body fat while gaining muscle. To achieve these goals I will increase my cardio to forty minute sessions,
five days a week. I will also increase the level of intensity of my workouts while lifting weights. The first
four weeks of the competition I will concentrate more on lifting heavy and concentrate more on the individual muscles.
While doing this I will workout two muscles per workout. The last four weeks of the competition I will concentrate on
doing more reps per set while lifiting lighter weights. Another important aspect of this competition is diet.
I will increase the amount of protein I consume and decrease the amount of carbohydrates I take in on a daily basis.
This will help with lowering my overall bodyfat. I will also stop eating any food after eight at night. During
the eight week contest I will also take supplements with my improved diet. I will have three protein shakes a day
and will also take Xenadrine to increase the amount of energy I have through out the day. Making all of these changes
I hope to lose ten pounds from my current weight. 3rd Place

My name is Cara Tucker and I am 24 years old. I joined this competition to have a motivator for staying in shape. Two years ago I tore my ACL while kickboxing and had to wait 6 months before having surgery. It has been a hard recovery. Unfortunately along the way, I gained a total of 17 pounds. For this competition, I implemented major changes to my lifestyle regarding diet, exercise routines, and attitude. I carefully watched my diet without the hassle of counting every single calorie. I am not a breakfast eater, so instead I purchased the Isopure (Creamy Vanilla) to make protein shakes in the morning. This helped balance out my diet. For lunches, I ate salads with different kinds of meat on it so that it wouldn’t get boring during the two months. I never ate dinner past six o’clock during the week, which is extremely hard for me as I am a teacher and never get home before seven o’clock. Especially on Tuesdays and Thursday s when I was training either by myself or with the best team ever! I was in Team 5 and we were Great together! We were one of the only groups to get everyone to train together at least once. Each member contributed a lot. We were each other’s motivators! Who ever said, “Don’t do it alone”, was absolutely right! I would train three to four times a week with Rik as my personal trainer. The group would train together with either Rik or Ivan and they were awesome too! They were able to teach us different cardio techniques that truly worked. My legs have never looked so good! The key to losing weight is to keep up the cardio. The jogging, running, and sprinting was all worth it. A positive attitude was also a major key in this competition. Before the competition, I was not portraying a positive attitude especially when it came to my weight. It has been a huge challenge for me to lose weight and every time I start, I usually hit a plateau. This competition proved to me that I could accomplish my goals. During the month and a half that I was fully participating, I lost ten pounds the healthy way. That is a major accomplishment for me. It only strives me to want to lose more. My goal is to lose ten more pounds and I should be able to accomplish this within a matter of two months. I will take the diet tips and training techniques that I learned from Team Payam and this competition and continue through with my goals. This competition is just the beginning for me! Thank you for everyone who has supported me throughout this process, without you I would not be as “thin” as I am today! |
